Begin cycling for Montreal in Burlington, Vermont on Sojourn’s three night Vermontreal trip and from Ottawa, Ontario – the Canadian Capital – on Sojourn’s six night tour. Coincidentally, the Vermontreal group stays at the Gouverneur Hotel on the final night of the trip while the one coming from Ottawa uses the chic St-Sulpice in Old Montreal. Both are great choices for cyclists and offer plenty of dining options within walking distance. Montreal features some fantastic city rides as the article mentions – the Lachine Canal is not to be missed!.

“from one side of the city to the other, without ever having to ride in traffic.’ – really? There are indeed a lot of bike paths, but they don’t all connect and very few could be said to go from one end of the city to the other. Perhaps, at a stretch, the Berri/Brébeuf/Christophe-Colomb path, if you don’t mind some meandering in places…

“The vibrant Saint Catherine Street is closed to cars from May to September. ” – it’s also closed to bikes.

“free for 30 minutes at a time” – that’s only true if you’ve already paid for a pass (Season, monthly, weekly, etc). Without one, you have to pay for the 30 minutes.

That said, yes come bike in Montreal!
