This is disgusting why do you feel the need to make everything about gender its such an outrageous claim, at the end of the day women have a go at men for being sexist but now looks like the tables have turned not impressed

We own a shop that is constantly making the effort to make all bike riders welcome. We based our business model on the fact that most shops exclude too much of the cycling community. We respect all riders, and go the extra mile to be the friendliest bike shop in a 100 mile radius.

This is such a great article! Lots of bike shop jagon and hyper-macho environments can be intimidating to new cyclists, and especially such a male-dominated atmosphere can be isolating to women. I’ve noticed certain bike shops popping up that are so successful as they cater to both genders seamlessly. Lovely!

I see more people buying (inexpensive) bikes at Target, K Mart, and Toys R Us than at higher priced bike shops. Price has to be a major reason why people don’t visit more expensive bike shops.
