How can we do more to actualize these values? One way is for “white folks” to not just think of people as as low income and/or people of color, but also as part of the working class, who are the vast majority of people in the country. We need more of the Occupy attitude, the 99% vs the 1%. A class perspective clarifies many things, especially for many white folks who think of themselves as middle class, but are really somewhat more privileged workers.
